Concert

You keep with the bass drum. It works well enough, so why try anything more complicated? It's not like you actually know what you're doing. 

You make it through the song, and stick to a similar form for the rest of the concert. 

Eventually, the bass guitarist lets you know there's only one more song. True to form, you lay down a steady bass drum beat.

Afterwards, the band members thank you for helping out and begin packing up. You head out, satisfied with by job well done.
